The innovation process started in 1908, when Ciment Fondu® and its manufacturing process were patented.

The diverse properties of calcium aluminates make the product and its related technologies something of a catalysing force for innovation. It is Kerneos' primary objective to create value for its customers through high-performance, inventive, specific and differentiating solutions. By developing new applications for calcium aluminates and by constantly enhancing its product offer and customer support, the company enables its customers to expand their business.

A dedicated Research Centre, responsible for a wealth of innovations
The company's research teams are based at the Kerneos Research and Technology Centre (KRTC), located near Lyon, France.
Their daily work consists in developing new solutions and improving manufacturing processes. Apart from fundamental research, the principal source of inspiration is their ongoing collaboration with customers, plants and sales and marketing teams.
The KRTC is a focal point around which two other development centres located in China and the United States operate, as well as four applications laboratories in Brazil, India, South Africa and Russia. With powerful values such as expertise and excellence as their watchwords, these laboratories provide fast and efficient technical support based on proximity and knowledge of local raw materials and specific applications. As a result, around a hundred years' worth of experience in calcium aluminates now constitutes a scientific discipline that is unique in the world.

 


 

CMA 72
CMA 72 is the realisation of numerous years of intense research to develop a binder for both pre-fored and in-situ alumina-magnesia castable systems.
The engineered castable microstructure generates by CMA 72 leads to castables with superior thermo-mechanical properties, increased corrosion resistance and penetration resistance to molten metals and slags.

Kerneos has developed a patented technology now available with TERNAL® RG-S, a version of TERNAL® RG which benefits from anti-ageing proprietary technology.
The benefit of this new technology has been showing to extend the shelf life of some calcium aluminates cement rich drymix formulations by up-to 12 months.

Ternal EV
TERNAL® EV is a new patented calcium aluminate technology. It is the first product designed specifically for binary formulation development. TERNAL® EV includes sufficient lime within its calcium aluminate mineralogy, such that when combined with a suitable source of calcium sulfate, the optimal ettringite formation is readily achieved.

   

Kerneos has developed and patented a new concept of calcium aluminate binder in liquid form: the EXALT® Liquid Technology.Kerneos' Liquid Technology is fit for use in all kinds of waterborne coatings: paints, waterproofing membranes, architectural coatings, ready-to-use adhesives, plasters, grouts, putties...EXALT® suspensions make it possible to power the very aluminates' hydraulic performance into organic polymer systems, in order to:
